The 26th Hamilton Scout Group officially formed on October 10th, 1924, so we are proudly celebrating our 93rd year of scouting!
We were founded by Mr. Allan B. Dove, who gathered a group of 12 scouts at the long torn-down Lloyd George elementary school at the corner of Upper Wentworth and Crockett on the Hamilton mountain. After six years at that location, our group moved to Chalmers Presbyterian Church in 1930. Now, after 87 years, we have been feeling very mixed emotions as we move to our new location at Trinity Presbyterian Church.
We currently have Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts participating in our group. Cubs meet Tuesday evenings and Beavers and Scouts meet Wednesday evenings. We also do many linking activities, bringing the youth of all ages together.
The most treasured asset of the 26th Hamilton group is our beloved Camp Wheeler, founded on 10 acres of land in Haliburton, in 1950. Our youth regularly make the trip here for camps in every season of the year.
We hope you can join us!
